Thanks to the Isocanale Indoor, Outdoor, Clean and Extreme systems, it is possible to create pre-insulated ducts for air transport, ideal both for controlled mechanical ventilation systems (CMV) and for air conditioning systems in residential, civil and industrial areas.
The ISOCANALE SYSTEM: important maintenance
The Isocanale system allows the creation of air transport ducts with high performance, long service life and ease of maintenance. The ducts consist of pre-insulated polyurethane panels coated on both sides with aluminium foil, a material that guarantees resistance even after numerous cleaning cycles — essential to keep the system in optimal hygienic conditions.
It is important to debunk a myth: cleaning just the filters of the suction or ejection nozzles is not enough to ensure the cleanliness of the whole system. Particulate matter, dust, bacteria and mold can settle inside the pipes, polluting the air in circulation. That is way, in addition to cleaning the diffusion accessories, it is essential to provide for periodic clean-up of pre-insulated pipelines: at least once a year in the residential field and more frequently in the civil or industrial sector, depending on the use.
Cleaning can be carried out through mechanical systems, compressed air and dust extraction. The aluminium cladding of the panels allows these kind of operations without compromising the structure of the duct. The procedure is quite simple: a tube connected to a suction and compressed air system is inserted through special inspection vents. The head of the tube, equipped with a nozzle and synthetic whips, is pushed by the air along the duct: the whips rotate hitting the surfaces and removing the sediments, which are then safely sucked and collected.
At the end of cleaning, even if the coatings of the ducts are antibacterial, an aerosol disinfection phase with specific products, selected according to the environment of use of the system, is recommended.
Finally, it is always good practice to carry out a technical-visual inspection and, in the most sensitive contexts (e.g. hospitals or industry), a microbiological check to certify the quality of the intervention performed.

As for the durability of a polyurethane foam panel, it is important to know that its useful life exceeds 30 years. This means that over time the mechanical, pneumatic and thermal insulation performance remains stable, allowing you — in case of interior redevelopment — to maintain the existing system or just partially adapt it, without compromising its efficiency.
