Air ducts, also called aeraulics, represent the structural part of a forced air conditioning or ventilation system, used for air distribution or recycling in the rooms.

Air ducts’ shape and dimension are usually calculated according to the design requirements and to the working weather conditions

Ducts transporting treated cold or hot air, have to be insulated in order to ensure comfort and energy saving.

Some technical points of significant importance when choosing ISOCANALE SYSTEM are the followings:

Thermal performance, guaranteed by a λi equal to 0.021 W/mK, which considerably reduces heat losses and running costs during the functioning of the plant;

Heat losses reduction, thanks to the class C air tightness certification (UNI EN 13403, EN 1507);

Anti-seismic safety, since the light weight (with low density panels less than 75% compared to traditional metal sheet ducts, and with high density panels less than 70% than traditional metal sheet ducts) and the great bending resistance, restrict at most deformations and shifts, and risks of crushing through fall can be considered almost non-existent;

Fireproof safety, thanks to the achievement of the Euroclass fire reaction B s1 d0 and B s2 d0.

The assessment of the STIFERITE panels’ environmental impact is certified by the Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) of III level, verified by the German institute IBU (Institut Bauen und Umwelt).

In order to promote the development of a more sustainable construction, STIFERITE issued the mapping of its products for the LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) protocol application, for the environmental certification of buildings.
